The "BIG" boy bed! Over the past nine months we have used his bunk beds as a place we would read, play and he has even had a couple of sleep overs with his cousins, Edward and Carolyn. Until last night! Last night Grayson asked all on his own to sleep in his BIG BOY BED so of course we let him thinking he would just lay there for a bit and be ready to get right back into his safe haven... The CRIB. Well, that did not happen, he slept soundly all night and even took his afternoon nap in his new bed. For those of you who don't know Grayson very well, Grayson is a VERY cautious little boy and his type of personality is one of which he does not like change and tends to adjust better at doing new things as long as he feels safe and comfortable. So, as his parents we try to not rush him into big changes. Instead we just encourage him along the way because we know in time when he gets ready and comfortable he will do it own his own just like he did last night. If we would have pushed, pleaded and begged I truly believe Grayson would had resented his bed and the transition would not have been so easy. That is why this has been so exciting for Greg and I. Because Grayson really did it all on his own! It has been so much fun during our day today seeing him so excited about sleeping in his new bed. All day he has told every person he has seen (stranger 0r not) that he slept in his "big boy" bed last night. Every time he said the words "I slept in my big boy bed" his face would light up with excitement and so much pride. Even though I see how happy he is and I am so happy for him, a little part of me feels so sad at the thought of taking his crib down. I mean... he is my baby, my first born and he is now sleeping in bunk beds and not just any bunk beds the same bunk beds that Greg slept in. How cool is that btw!

BIG BOY BED!!!

wow! how exciting...we're heading in that direction later this year. that's awesome that grayson went ahead & did this all on his own.
